Obchodní akademie a Střední zdravotnická škola, Blansko – Czech Republic
Erasmus+ 2025-1-CZ01-KA121-VET-000325580
5th – 18th October 2025
Thessaloniki, Greece
As part of their Erasmus+ mobility, students from Obchodní akademie a Střední zdravotnická škola in Blansko, Czech Republic, joined a two-week educational program in Thessaloniki organized by Ipodomi. The aim was to provide participants with hands-on experience in the healthcare and social care sectors, while offering meaningful cultural immersion in one of Greece’s most vibrant cities.
Internship Experience
During the first week, the students were placed at Diamantideios Stegi, a well-established elderly care facility in Thessaloniki. There, they actively observed and supported the care of senior residents, learning about daily assistance routines, communication techniques, and the ethical approach to working with vulnerable groups.
In parallel with their daily activities at the care home, the students also visited key healthcare institutions during the second week, gaining broader exposure to the Greek public health system. The educational visits included:
- Laboratory Center of Evosmos
- Ippokrateio General Hospital
- Agios Pavlos General Hospital
- Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki
- Papageorgiou General Hospital
These visits allowed them to deepen their understanding of medical practice, clinical diagnostics, mental health services, and hospital operations in a European context. They also had the chance to engage with local professionals, ask questions, and observe best practices across various departments.
Cultural Experience
The program also included cultural visits to some of Thessaloniki’s most iconic landmarks. The students explored historical monuments such as the White Tower, the Church of Saint Demetrios, Hagia Sophia, Rotunda, and the Arch of Galerius.
A day trip to Edessa’s waterfalls and a relaxing visit to the Pozar Thermal Baths offered a unique natural retreat, while a visit to Peraia Beach allowed the group to enjoy the Aegean Sea before returning home.
A Long-standing Partnership with Recognized Results
This mobility marks another successful chapter in the ongoing collaboration between Obchodní akademie a Střední zdravotnická škola and Ipodomi. Our long-standing partnership reflects a shared commitment to providing high-quality vocational training and cultural exchange opportunities for students.
At the end of the program, all participants were awarded a Certificate of Participation and the official Europass Mobility Document, which formally recognizes the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired during their stay in Greece. This not only enhances their academic and professional profiles but also strengthens their readiness for future careers within and beyond Europe.
Together, we continue to invest in shaping confident, skilled, and internationally minded professionals of tomorrow.
